Salary Range: $120,953-$151,192 per annum plus comprehensive benefits

Location: 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton


Hours of work: 35 hours per week


Who we are: Business and Financial Planning (BFP) provides both Council and ELT with important financial information to make strategic decisions on the services and service levels for the taxpayers and businesses of Peel Region.


In addition to providing strategic financial leadership and recommendations to the departmental leadership teams on financial performance, operating and capital planning, along with business analysis, BFP partners with the leadership teams to execute program and corporate strategic deliverables, as well as provide an organizational perspective to the business.


In this role you will Manage a team of 3 Supervisors.

As the Manager, Business & Financial Planning - Health Services you will play an integral role in partnering with our clients to achieve their objectives and support all services provided by the department(s). You will provide strategic financial leadership and recommendations to the departmental leadership teams on financial performance, operating and capital planning, along with business analysis. In addition, you will partner with the leadership teams to execute program and corporate strategic deliverables, as well as provide an organizational perspective to the business.

  • Applying financial and business analysis skills to support Council Reports
  • Providing overall financial stewardship for the Department(s), with an annual Operating budget of $ 420 million and a Capital Budget of $ 70 million
  • Ensuring that the highly complex Operating and Capital Budgets are presented in a simplified and meaningful manner to the Region’s Leadership teams and Regional Council
  • Providing pro-active advice on critical issues, risk mitigation opportunities and contingency plans
  • Partnering with the Health Services Commissioner and the Health Leadership team as well as other leadership teams across the organization to deliver targeted outcomes by assessing program priorities, providing creative and timely solutions, and communicating performance management of key deliverables
  • Lead, coach, motivate and inspire a team of finance professionals to provide service excellence and deliver on key outcomes


What The Role Requires


  • A professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA, ACCA)
  • Combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Relevant University Degree (Finance, Accounting, Master Business Administration)

In this role you will have the ability to work remotely and attend on-site when required based on operational requirements at the 10 Peel Centre Drive, Bramptonworksite. The frequency of on-site activities may vary on a weekly basis and based on operational requirements. Your remote work location must be located within the province of Ontario.
