Position: Manager, Facility Operations

Tenure: Full-time, Permanent

Position Overview:

Our client, an established non-profit that brings healthcare services to the elderly population in the West GTA region. They are seeking an experienced Manager of Facility Operations to join their team and oversee a new facility they have in Mississauga. Ideal candidates will have significant experience in leadership, facility management, and change management within a healthcare environment.

What you’ll be doing:

• Conduct regular inspections of property, equipment and building systems to ensure they’re in appropriate working condition and to support overall effort towards sustainability.
• Embrace and proactively support a culture of environmental sustainability, as well as corporate and social responsibility in the day-to-day management of the property.
• Prepare and manage the operating budget and financials while proactively seeking opportunities for efficiency and cost reduction.
• Ensure strict compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation.
• Ad hoc duties, as required.
• Manage all performance and staff management requirements, including scheduling, hiring, and training.
• Lead inventory management function and order any equipment and supplies as needed.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure the department is improving and developing towards goals.
• Coordinate and manage all external contractors as required.
• Foster a supportive and encouraging environment for staff development, and a strong customer service attitude.
• Lead, oversee, and improve all preventative, routine, and emergency maintenance processes and procedures with respect to the safe operation of all equipment and building systems.

Must Haves:

• Experience in a leadership or management position is a strong asset.
• Strong working knowledge and understanding of all relevant legislation, including Occupational Health and Safety Standards, The Long-Term Care Act, and any other regulations that pertain directly to the operation of LTC facilities.
• Post-secondary education in Environmental Services or Facility Management is an asset.
• A criminal verification check is required.
• 10+ years of experience in Facilities Maintenance, Property Management, Environmental Services, or similar within a healthcare setting.
