Maintenance &Amp; Operations Program Coordinator (Technologist Ii)

POSITION PURPOSE

Reporting to the Supervisor Maintenance and Operations, is responsible for coordinating and facilitating system support by managing information, updating business systems and providing field support around storm ponds, wells, septic systems and small drinking water systems, supporting services and initiatives between other Branch Business Units and Facilities Operations and Maintenance; providing direct support to the Supervisor in technical and compliance areas by monitoring contracted work, coordinating with procurement, reviewing contracts and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and legislation, providing support in development and implementation of policies and procedures that pertain exclusively to Operations; analyzing and preparing reports; and providing operations field support. 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides Operations field support.
• Reviews and analyzes technical and compliance reports with regards to storm ponds, wells, septic systems, and small drinking water systems ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and legislations.
• Maintains Operations facility and contact information on the Region’s Intranet site.
• Supports the business by managing information, updating business systems and assists the Supervisor in the design and implementation of automated business processes through use of the Operations business systems.
• Monitors contracted work with contractors and consultants during routine inspection, testing and maintenance.
• Assists with the development of technical standards and policies and procedures for Operations and coordinates with Operations staff.
• Develops, maintains, and updates asset information, work plants and maintenance tasks
• Identifies and prepares business case analysis for upgrades and improvements of operational facilities, equipment, and process.
• Assists in technical and compliance related issues. 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Successful completion of a three (3) year Community College Diploma in Engineering Technology.  
• Minimum three (3) years’ experience in municipal facilities operations and working with a Computerized Work Management System.
• Knowledge of the Region’s purchasing bylaw procedures and requirements for contracting services. 
• Knowledge of basic chemistry, environmental sampling methodologies, groundwater servicing, water supply operating procedures, water and wastewater treatment processes and quality standards.
• Demonstrated knowledge of applicable legislation, Acts, and industry standards.
