Your Opportunity:


It is an exciting time to be part of the Provincial Addiction and Mental Health (AMH) Programs and Services portfolio as we move towards creating a more holistic, long-term recovery-oriented system of treatment and support services. The Practice Supports & Provincial Partnerships unit seeks a new member to join its innovative team. The Program Consultant II leads, develops, implements, and sustains AMH recovery-oriented competency-based practice supports and training initiatives. As a Program Consultant II, you will be responsible for work of an advanced nature and complexity. You will provide clinical leadership in creating and delivering evidence-informed experiential training events to enhance the clinical skills of the AMH workforce. This includes developing instructional design materials that align with AMH strategies and recovery-oriented practice across the AMH care continuum; providing clinical expertise in facilitating, leading and mentoring AMH Healthcare Providers through evidence-informed virtual clinical skills training sessions (e.g. MI, CBT, DBT Skills & others.); providing a leading role in sustaining current and/or implementing new and emergent provincial projects using project management methodology; and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders regarding assigned projects/initiatives, including zone, academic, government, community stakeholders and people with lived experiences. You will hold strong clinical knowledge and experience in clinical interventions with the ability to train an inter-professional workforce across multiple competency domains. This position is provincial in scope, and occasional travel may be required.


Description:


As a Program Consultant II, you will have an expert understanding and knowledge of addiction and mental health issues and act as a resource providing advanced mentorship and support to a wide array of stakeholders who lead complex projects related to enhancing an integrated addiction and mental health service delivery system. You will provide consultation, facilitation, leadership and coordination to projects, strategies and initiatives that contribute to achievement of organizational goals and priorities. Key clients/stakeholders include cross-ministry partners, regulatory colleges, senior leadership, operational managers and supervisors, provincial portfolio areas, clinical leads and educators. You will also conduct and participate in research and evaluation projects, analyzing and refining statistical information as required. As a Program Consultant II, you will be responsible for health promotion and specialized planning, consulting and program development that is province wide in scope, as well as participating in additional project work related to the development of strategy.

Required Qualifications:


Completion of bachelor's degree in a health related field. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the applicable college.


Additional Required Qualifications:


Minimum of an undergraduate degree and considerable experience related to the position's area of specialization. Minimum 3 years’ experience in teaching clinical skill development, including coaching, mentorship, or supervision through various virtual platforms (Zoom/Teams/eLearning) and in-person modes. Minimum 5 years’ experience in utilizing intermediate to advanced clinical skills or intervention modalities. Vast knowledge of evidence-informed clinical guidelines, practice standards and policies or procedures for treating concurrent mental health and substance use disorders or behavioural addiction. Working knowledge of provincial and zone AMH services and resources. Established experience in leading a variety of stakeholders to solve problems and innovate services. Excellent critical thinking and communication skills (written and verbal) with a proven ability to work independently and cohesively as part of a virtual team. Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Teams) and Zoom. A demonstrated dedication to personal & professional self-development and the ability to be creative, flexible, self-directed, and dependable.


Preferred Qualifications:


Training/certification in clinical interventions related to AMH treatment and recovery. Master's degree in a relevant health or social sciences field and active registration with appropriate Regulatory College/Association. Certification in any or all of the following is considered an asset: adult Learning, instructional design, change management, and project management.
