The IT Medical Systems Specialist is an exciting opportunity in a developing area of healthcare, that individuals with a medical device or IT networking background might be interested in. The Middleware Services team supports medical device applications, many with integrations to the electronic medical record system. There is flexibility as to the location of this position is within the Calgary Zone. At the time of appointment the successful candidate may discuss location options with the hiring manager.

Description:

As an IT Analyst II, you will provide technical support related to information technology applications either directly to users of the systems or to service delivery functions. You will ensure reliable operations of information systems, resolve complex technical problems, find solutions to customer needs, and lead projects and program initiatives. You will be responsible for more advanced application, telecom or technology support duties. You will investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex problems that have typically been escalated several levels before assignment to this position, and will translate business requirements into technical requirements for a solution and recommend a potential approach to the vendor. You will analyse the solution provided to ensure that it fits both technical requirements and business needs. You will also spend time on project or initiative leadership and delivery.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Strong communication skills required so can communicate with stakeholders. Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Business, or Health-Related discipline. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of work experience in healthcare. Experience as biomedical or respiratory technologist or network engineer or equivalent. Experience working for a medical device vendor. Experience supporting IT Medical Systems or Medical Device Knowledge. Epic Certification.
