Lead Systems Engineer

SerDes IP Lead Systems Engineering Position Description:

This is a unique opportunity to join the rapidly growing team in the SerDes IP R&D Group at Cadence Design Systems. We are looking for a Lead Systems Engineer who will be a key contributor to our advanced high speed SerDes IP products. This is a hands-on technical position.

Main Job Tasks And Responsibilities

• Correlate IBIS-AMI models to hardware measurement
• Key contributor to R&D team to define and develop high speed SerDes IP product specifications
• Develop and support IBIS-AMI models
• Update R&D team with customer feedback and competitive analysis
• Generate technical specification, data sheets, and application notes
• Support customer package/board design and debug as necessary

Position Requirements

• Experience with EDA tools such as Advanced Design System and Sigrity
• Experience developing, correlating, and delivery system or IBIS-AMI models for high-speed SerDes
• Experience with customer facing activities such as pre-sale evaluation and post-sale support on system models
• Deep knowledge of communication systems fundamentals
• B.S. Electrical/Computer Engineering (or similar degree) plus 5+ years’ experience or M.S. plus 3+ years’ experience
• Strong mathematical skills, in particular linear systems (Fourier analysis, filter theory, etc.)
• Experience using system simulation tools – Matlab/Simulink, Perl, or other script tools
• Strong debug and problem-solving skills

The annual salary range for San Jose, CA is $ 108,500 to $201,500. You may also be eligible to receive incentive compensation: bonus, equity, and benefits.Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure.
