The Research Methods Unit (RMU), located in Halifax, is a research unit designed to support clinical and health research throughout Nova Scotia Health, the IWK Health Centre, and Dalhousie University's Faculties of Medicine, Health Professions and Dentistry. .
Reporting to the Research Manager, Department of Emergency Medicine, the Research Assistant contributes to management of by assisting with study administration, providing general administrative support, and maintaining study data.
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
  • Ability to draft, format and edit office correspondence
  • Previous experience in a health care/research setting is an asset
  • Effective communication, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Two years’ research related experience preferred
  • CCRP or CCRA considered an asset
  • Proficiency with current Nova Scotia Health systems (STAR, PHS and/or LIS) an asset
  • Currently enrolled in post-secondary education in a Health Science and/or Science related field required OR completed post-secondary education in a Health Science and/or Science related field required
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint), email and internet
  • Well developed organizational, time management and daily planning skills
  • Ability to work well independently as well as within a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • TCPS2: CORE Certification considered an asset
Hours of Work
Casual Relief (approx. 10-15 hours/week)
Beginning June 12, 2023
  • Start date is approximate and subject to change.
Salary Information
$21.58 - $26.97 hourly
