Job Description

Under the general direction of the Manager, Human Resources, this position is responsible for delivering HR services to a site, including coordinating team member requests and changes, as well as providing administrative support. Ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.

Key Accountabilities

  • Communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Conducts site orientations
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Manages and maintains lists of regulatory requirements
  • May attend the OH&S meetings as an employer representative
  • Coordinates WSIB Claims to ensure accuracy
  • Provides HR advice to team members and site managers; refers to the Manager, Human Resources when necessary.
  • Prepares internal correspondence as directed
  • Provides guidance and interpretation of the sites two collective agreements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed
  • Builds strong working relationships with guests and team members
  • Assists with recruitment including but not limited to attending career fairs, interviewing candidates, and managing job postings
  • Responds to employment verification requests
  • Liaises with other locations on team member and file transfers
  • Assists with the return-to-work process and managing team member leave of absences.
  • Processes HR paperwork and maintains site files

Education and Qualifications

  • Computer literacy in MS Office; Oracle or HRIS experience an asset
  • Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
  • HR Designation an asset
  • High School Diploma; post secondary education in HR or a suitable combination of education and experience
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License
  • Minimum 2 years of HR or administrative support experience
