Human Resources Assistant, Operational Support (Northern Health)

Position Summary

Northern Health is looking for an experienced, highly efficient, and self-directed temporary full time Assistant to support the Human Resources department.

Aligned with Northern Health's strategic plan, and in accordance with the organizations vision and values, the Human Resources Assistant, Operational Support works collaboratively and proactively with leaders of the assigned portfolio to assist in the completion of human resource and other management functions. The position is responsible to track education requirements for staff and assists leaders to ensure completion in compliance with regulatory, legislative, and organizational requirements. The Assistant monitors, tracks, and reports on human resource metrics, including employee attendance, workforce demographics, overtime, and vacancies; assists in ensuring accuracy of data by maintaining position level detail in collaboration with leaders, Finance and Human Resources

The role assists regional departments in recognizing opportunities that will ensure consistency, collaboration, and increased efficiency in the delivery of services to Northern Health leadership teams. The incumbent contributes to a welcoming, diverse, and psychologically safe work environment by establishing respectful relationships, modelling expected behavior, addressing situations where NH values are not demonstrated and assisting others to do the same.

Starting salary will be approximately from $52,156 to $65,195 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions

Fort St. John Hospital and Health Centre is a 46-bed hospital with 115 residential care beds in the adjoining Peace Villa Care Home. They have two state of the art operating rooms, ambulatory clinics including cancer care and hemodialysis, emergency and ICU, a birthing centre with single maternity rooms for labour, delivery, and post-partum.

Fort St. John is located above the Peace River Valley, and has a diverse population of 21,000 (2021) and serves an area of approximately 69,000. Qualfications

• Diploma in Human Resources, Business, or a relevant discipline.
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Two (2) to three (3) years' experience including human resources experience.
