Human Factors Specialist Jobs

Work includes the specification, design, validation, test and verification of CMC products. Cockpit integration work includes all steps required to integrate and install the equipment onto the customers’ aircraft.

Responsibilities

Working closely with the Systems Engineering and Project Management teams the candidate will have the following responsibilities:

• Creating Concept of Operations for on board equipment
• Work collaboratively within a project team of committed professionals
• Demonstrate compliance to customer and certification regulation requirements
• UI Designs for cockpit equipment including displays and panels
• Creating conceptual cockpit layouts and architectures based on customer requirements
• Identify issues/problems during development/certification and provide recommendations for resolution; identify program impacts and prepare technical descriptions
• Human factors analyses including Task and Workload Analyses
• Support major program internal and customer reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR etc)
• Author Human Factors documents for avionics equipment or cockpit certification. (Certification Plan, User Interface Design Document, Evaluation Plan/ Checklist, Human Factors evaluation report)
• Author/Analyse/Manage Human factors requirements using DOORS

Qualifications

• Knowledge of civil aircraft Type Certification and Supplemental Type Certificate process for FAR PART 23/25, CS-25/23
• Prior experience with avionics systems: PFD, Electronic Map, EICAS, FMS, GPS, TCAS, TAWS, WXR, SVS, HUD, EVS, etc.
• Minimum 5 to 7 years experience in complex avionics systems.
• Masters in Human Factors Engineering
• Knowledge of civil and/or military specification standards and practices: TSO C113a, TSO-C209, TSOc-115, TSO C-145, TSO C-165, SAE AS-8034B, SAE AS86296, MIL STD 1472
• Minimum Bachelor of Engineering and; or equivalent experience
