The HR Specialist will provide strategic and tactical leadership, direction and expertise to client groups and within their respective teams and partners with the Human Resource specialty functions to build and implement Human Resource policies and programs in support of the business.
What You Will Do

• Ensure consistent implementation and interpretation of policies and practices to achieve legislative and Collective Agreement compliance. In partnership with Labour Relations, you will handle the grievance procedure.
• You will partner with client groups integrating strategies and practices with business strategies and operating plans.
• Partner with specialty HR functions to develop, improve and revise Policy and Program initiatives representing Employee Relations.
• May lead sophisticated investigations relating to violations of company guidelines, policies and procedures governing employee conduct.
• Coach and mentor client leaders to handle employee issues including performance management, attendance management and other conduct related issues.
• Provide leadership implementing performance management, compensation, and training & development programs.
• Identify, review and provide direction related to organizational and employment strategies to meet Human Resources requirements.
• Partner with business management to achieve business results by providing strategic and tactical leadership, counsel and advice concerning Human Resource matters.
• Facilitate the development and management of the workforce including recruitment, hiring, training & development, career development, goal setting, retention etc.

Who You Are

• University degree in HR management or relevant discipline. Equivalent experience will be considered.
• Excellent understanding of Human Resource best practices.
• Demonstrable knowledge of HR policies, procedures, practices, collective agreements.
• 7 years of experience in a Human Resources function.
• Proficient computer software and program-related skills, including Excel and Word, to produce spreadsheets and charts, and complete other analysis as the need arises.
• Previous experience with an assigned client area.
