Job Skills / Requirements

Reporting to the BC Healthcare Operations Manager, the Healthcare Operations Supervisor's (HOS) key focus is in assisting with the afterhours operations across the Lower Mainland. This includes assisting the management of incidents, training, quality control, contract KPI, special projects, and other focuses as led by the client/PSG management team. This position is ideal for current Supervisors or Site Managers/Security Leads looking to take on more responsibility and progress into a more senior Management role. This position will be based out of the PSG head office / Paladin Operations Centre but will be required to travel to sites across the Lower Mainland for critical incidents or when needs arise.

Typical Duties & Responsibilities

• Will assist in overseeing the scheduling, training, coaching, mentoring and overall support for Site Managers, Site Supervisors, Shift Supervisors and Security Officers afterhours.
• Acts as the primary representative for Paladin Security afterhours, including but not limited to, directly liaising and working closely with, Health Authority administration and management and other key stakeholders, both internal and external.
• Act as a lead for security issues in accordance with PSG and hospital standards and regulatory requirements. Ensure guidelines and standards for security staff are adhered to.
• Conducts threat, risk assessments and provide recommendations for security and safety improvements.
• The HOS may be required to conduct monthly in-services such as fire education sessions under the direction of the Community Operations ASL.
• Assists in developing, implementing, maintaining and evaluating an overall security program, including Post Orders, Policy & Procedure Manuals, and OH&S programs.
• Conduct investigations when incidents and situations occur as required.
• Perform other duties as required and/or requested.
• Support regular officer's afterhours including Paladin Operations Centre and Scheduling with responsibilities delegated to them.
• Compile accurate statistics on a monthly basis.
• Serves as a contact with Municipal police and other authorities for security-related matters and may consult on behalf of Paladin IPS by attending meetings and serving on committees and working groups.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Working knowledge of appropriate legislation and provincial/national standards on fire safety, building codes, security, and protection of privacy. Must have a minimum of one-year security experience or a combination of experience and relevant education. Must have successfully completed Healthcare Security Training or be willing to complete this training. Must be acting in a Supervisory role at present or have acted in this capacity in recent history. The successful candidate will be required to complete PSG Supervisor Training if they have not already done so.
