BASE MANAGER
Position Purpose
This position will provide leadership to a team of employees that are responsible for all cleaning, janitorial, and grooming work execution at the airport.In addition to managing individuals at the site, they will also oversee the complete operation not limited to coordinating the paperwork, communication with the internal and external customers, job scheduling, inspection, and reporting to the Regional Manager. Champions process improvement strategies and training.Identify and provide constructive feedback on challenges on a regular basis to cut costs and improve efficiency.
This position will act as a liaison between the head office and the customers.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
·Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate multiple direct reports, including training and development to create and maintain a team that effectively accomplishes the company goals and objectives
·Coordinate recruiting with the HR department
·Supervise daily activities at the airport
·Prepare and submit reports on work activities and operations to the manager on a regular basis
·Ensure direct reports are trained on their daily tasks, use of machines, and safety procedures
·Monitor and confront unsafe acts or situations
·Prepare staff schedule and keep it updated
·Verify employee time sheets and provide the required data to the payroll
·Manage Unexcused Absences (no-shows) or call in’s by providing replacements
·Resolve employee conflicts in a timely manner
·Provides clear and consistent direction to the direct reports to ensure that procedures are implemented and deadlines are met, while customer service remains superior
·Maintain a high degree of communication with the internal and external customers
·Communicate with the customer on a regular basis to understand their needs and satisfaction
·Create and sustain an environment of integrity, trust, fairness, and pride in accomplishment
Nature and Scope
Reports to the Regional Manager
Accountable for the management of an assigned area through direct reports and for all personnel issues including selection, termination, and performance appraisal.
Environmental Job Requirements
1. Traveling within the airport and potential external traveling for training purposes
2. Must meet reasonable deadlines
3. React to strict timelines
4. Involves driving, standing/walking most or part of the day
Minimum Qualifications
Must pass the Background Check.
Must pass the pre-employment tests if applicable.
Must pass the drug test
Education Required
The knowledge, skills, and experience typically obtained through diploma/certification or relevant work experience
Years of Relevant Work Experience
Minimum 2 years of Management / Supervisory experience in cleaning/janitorial/maintenance environment
Certificates/Licenses
A valid Driver’s License with a clean abstract is a requirement.
Must possess or be able to obtain an airport RAIC (Red/Purple Pass/Airside Permit)
Must possess Driver’s License and the ability to obtain Driving Airside Licensing (D/A)
Physical Job Requirements
Standing/walking while supervising the activities
Some light to medium lifting of articles may be required

·Good Working Microsoft office knowledge to create and read different documents, dashboards and Excel tables.

- Salary will be based on experience.
- For Montreal proficiency in English and French is required.
