At EPIC, we partner with decorated, recognized chefs in Edmonton (and beyond) to bring the best local fare under one roof. When customers pay us a visit, they can expect an EPIC culinary experience that answers Edmontonians' cravings. After opening EPIC 5th St in October 2021 (Edmonton’s first food hall! located downtown), EPIC is working towards its second multi-restaurants location, slated to open summer 2023, along with an online event marketplace.


We are adding a full-time Event Marketing Specialist who will report directly to our CMO. You will be a key part of the continued growth and success of the EPIC brand as you will be responsible for coordinating special events, supporting our communications and marketing strategies, handling the day-to-day activities on our social media accounts, and helping out with collateral and communications material creation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Event Coordination

  • Coordinate special publicity events, including but not limited to promotion, ticket sales, budgeting, set-up, tear-down, and reporting (flexible hours required)
  • Research event locations, venues, and activities for potential execution
  • Initiate and maintain relationships with media and stakeholders
  • Provide coordination, project management, planning documents and reports to measure performance and ensure event and marketing promotion success
  • Assist in the strategy, creative development, production, distribution, and maintenance of event content or collateral and communications material

Marketing & Communication

  • Collaborates with internal departments and external vendors to coordinate and execute marketing projects successfully.
  • Support the development of print and/or web-based tools and collaterals
  • Create, edit and publish innovative and relevant content for various digital and social platforms using online software
  • Support other program and organizational activities as required
  • Monitor digital channels (website, social media, etc.) and incoming messages, reroute to appropriate people
  • Considering web traffic and other customer engagement metrics, develop and maintain a social media posting strategy and schedule
  • Assist in the development and implementation of communications and marketing strategies, maintaining and developing our brand voice.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Up to 2 years of experience in event planning/coordinating, marketing and communications or other relevant experience
  • Demonstrates initiative and ability to recognize opportunities for improvement and efficiency
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant field such as event management, communications, marketing, or similar
  • Experience with the restaurant / hospitality industry is considered an asset
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences
  • Strong time management skills with an ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain effective and collaborative relationships with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team environment as well as independently
  • Proven copywriting skills, with high levels of attention to detail and strong editorial capability
  • Graphic design skills are considered an asset
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to execute tasks with a high level of accuracy
  • Proficiency in Google Suite applications
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a changing environment while staying on top of the latest trends and processes relating to your field
  • Understanding of popular social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok
  • Results-oriented professional with a high degree of initiative and autonomy
  • Creative and innovative thinking with a strong understanding of social media platforms, online social media strategies and channels


Full time position (40hrs/week) at $20/hour
