THE OPPORTUNITY


Triton Environmental Consultants Ltd. (“Triton”) is seeking a highly-motivated and enthusiastic Environmental Project Manager to join a well-established team of environmental professionals in our Edmonton office.


The successful candidate will support the project management and technical team in Edmonton. Our project managers are the cornerstone of our company and are committed to outstanding client service. In this role you will be responsible for managing the on-time and on-budget delivery of projects and providing mentorship to more junior staff. Our client base ranges from regional clients to multi-national oil & gas companies, to government, First Nations, power management, and transportation firms. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:


  • Providing mentorship and training for our environmental professional team
  • Working collaboratively within Triton corporate culture
  • Contributing specialist expertise to multi-disciplinary projects
  • Leading technical teams to ensure the quality, cost, and timeliness of deliverables
  • Ensuring client’s and Triton’s safety standards are maintained or exceeded
  • Providing excellent service to existing clients and maintaining those relationships
  • Creating project status reports and maintaining project documentation
  • Liaising and negotiating with other partners, clients, regulators, contractors, and sub-contractors
  • Planning, organizing, and managing a diverse array of projects, people, and tasks
  • Writing high-quality reports, cost estimates, and proposals
  • Supporting corporate business development initiatives


Skills And Qualifications


  • Knowledge of and experience with environmental standards, and regulations or guidelines and federal and provincial regulations
  • A quick learner, easily adapting to new software applications, systems, and business processes
  • Effective writing skills, and ability to produce meaningful reports and proposals
  • Degree or diploma in a related field (environmental science, biology, agrology, ecology)
  • Superbly organized and self-managed, with a collaborative working style
  • Demonstrated increasing experience in project management (i.e., budgeting, project tracking, cost-accounting and scope control) and with the leadership and supervision of project teams
  • Previous experience in the environmental consulting industry is an asset
  • Accreditation or eligibility for accreditation with professional governing body recognized in BC (R.P. Bio, P.Ag., AScT.) is an asset
  • Strong problem solver able to address challenges with effective solutions that improve systems and/or relationships, and with the ability to think outside the box
