Scope of the Position:
Responsible for leading the Sales and Operations function and Branch Managers within specified area within a region and achieving determined annual sales and margin objectives, while achieving bottom line profitability. Managing and encouraging optimal performance of all direct reports, including training.
Major Responsibilities:
- Work with Branch Managers to maintain and grow their respective branches and markets
- Oversee assigned sales territories for Sales Representatives
- Pricing maintenance for own district
- Translate Regional strategic direction into specific objectives for sales channels and alliances
- Aid Regional Director with revenue projections, reporting, budgeting and forecasting for assigned district
- Meet with key clients, assist sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
- Resolve day to day personnel issues where management decisions are required
- Promote and embody the Vision, Mission and Values of the Company
- Deliver sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives
- Prepare periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
- Manage branch resources within target productivity and efficiency benchmarks
- Manage and develop a team of direct reports within an assigned district including but not limited to Branch Managers, Supervisors, outside Sales Representatives, and Project team members
- Other duties as assigned.
- Represent the Company at trade association meetings to promote the Company.
- Conduct weekly sales and branch meetings
- Assist with the product simplification and standardization process in order to eliminate unprofitable items from sales lin.
- Review the daily activities and financial statements vs. objectives and take steps to ensure appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results
- Vendor relation, and future management planning
- Assist in the development and implementation of strategic sales and branch budget plans to accommodate corporate goals
- With Branch Managers determine local and industry community representation
- Advise dealers, distributors, and clients concerning sales technique
- Direct sales forecasting activities and set performance goals accordingly
Requirements:
- Courses in Sales/Marketing an asset
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
- High School Diploma required
- College/University Diploma an asset (Business related, preferred)
- Minimum 5-8 years of related experience within distribution
- Minimum 3-5 years previous management experience, preferably as a Branch Manager.
- Industry knowledge/experience required
