Job Summary


The Director, Program and Project Management supports the strategy, execution and delivery of programs that seek to materially shift the trajectory of our business. This role reports into the Equinix Transformation office, with a direct line to the Operations Leader. This role will be accountable for the program management of one or several of Equinix’s top priorities and will act as a strategic partner to the initiative lead turning their vision of the program into reality. This role will partner with a broad group of stakeholders to steer, govern and drive complex programs ensuring value is realized.


Responsibilities


  • Identify and engage appropriate stakeholders, manage expectations and drive conflict resolution
  • Estimate and request funding and resources. Track budget actuals and forecast spend
  • Act as an evangelist for the Equinix strategy and priorities
  • Baseline current performance, set objectives, and complete cost benefit assessments. Create metrics and dashboards to measure process efficiencies to validate results
  • Drive program implementation working closely with subject matter experts
  • Monitor the health of the work, gathering feedback on what’s working vs. not and adapt as needed
  • Bring transformational leadership to drive change in behavior across Equinix
  • Possess the confidence to challenge the status quo and ensure project conversations drive innovative thinking
  • Use program and project management best practices to help teams execute programs on time, on budget and meet program outcomes.
  • Strategically evaluate and drive alignment and decision-making
  • Address program and interpersonal conflict head-on and tactfully
  • Analyze solutions from multiple angles, provide recommendations considering the needs of functional or cross functional teams, and assess priority based on fit to agreed organizational criteria
  • Understand issues, identify the root cause and articulate it in an actionable way, frame options to resolve it, and drive the decision on those options with the relevant stakeholders
  • Lead global, cross functional workstreams focused on accelerating our strategic priorities
  • Strong communicator with sufficient business acumen to advise and influence the most senior executives across the company
  • Present to program steering committees making detailed, prioritized recommendations, communicating risks and program status, facilitating discussions and driving decision making


Qualifications


  • Experience and understanding of customers’ and employees’ view of the business
  • Understanding of the linkages between business, policies, processes and behaviors/mindsets; identifies integration risks and cross functional dependencies proactively and quickly implements mitigation plans
  • Ability to think through & manage around potential upstream and downstream impact
  • Significant experience influencing and leading initiatives with senior leaders of the company
  • 10+ years' experience working in project/program mgmt or a related field at a high growth tech company or technology-focused enterprise
  • Experience working in an agile environment, leading teams using Agile thinking
  • Experience leading projects or programs that are global, cross functional and deliver high impact/ROI

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:


  • San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: $160,000 to $273,000


Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.


This position may be offered in other locations. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your preferred location during the hiring process.


The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
