Summary/Function:
Under the direction of the Executive Director, this position will be responsible for developing and executing strategies using relationship fund development best practices. In this capacity, the Director of Resource Development will play a lead role in identifying, building and maintaining relationships with individuals, organizations, and corporations to meet the organization’s aggressive revenue goals on an annual basis.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward qualified prospects and donors through in-person visits to secure commitments for donations and gifts and share the organization’s message and vision.
- Act as the lead on the Fundraising Committee of the Board of Directors of DANI/Dani’s Place, providing input and creative recommendations to meet the objectives of the Committee.
· Meet and strive to exceed the qualitative and quantitative performance metrics of the role, including qualification, contact reports, visits, overall contacts and demonstrate a keen ability to advance donor relationships toward meaningful gifts.
· Provide accurate and timely activity reports and revenue forecasts through use of the CRM system.
· Take an active role in team meetings and retreats and partner with both senior colleagues and those across the broader institution to ensure that potential gift prospects are properly qualified, cultivated, and stewarded.
· Demonstrate fundraising acumen and productive leadership with members of the Board and with Fundraising Committee leaders and support the development of the strategic planning and goal-setting process for DANI & Dani’s Place.
· Work independently and be self-motivated in initiating contacts with potential donors, and routinely engage Board members and other current donors in peer-supported prospect identification, visits, and gift closures within the DANI/Dani’s Place community.
· Collaborate with the Executive Director and the Senior Managers within DANI/Dani’s Place to analyse portfolios and strategize upgrades [Note to draft: you should clarify as to what is meant by upgrades, i.e., upgrades to what?], and with Corporate/Foundation colleagues to cultivate individual gifts from corporate partner leadership.
· Develop and oversee writing/production of fund-raising materials including, but not limited to, case statements, brochures, solicitation letters, gift proposals, appreciation letters, donor reports, social media and on-line giving and campaign status reports.
· Perform all other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director
Minimum Qualifications:
· Education: Undergraduate degree required
· Related Experience: 5+ years of progressive fund-raising responsibility including complex major and planned giving experience preferred

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Ability to travel as necessary, less than 20%
· Demonstrated track record of execution of donor plans with excellence including strategic thinking, proposal development, use of a strategic plan, and negotiation supported by internal leadership to form strong opportunities for donor investment
Superior relationship-building skills
· Ability to engage staff leadership and board members, and to earn and maintain confidence
· Excellent communication skills, with the capacity to write and speak clearly and effectively; the ability to listen; and the drive and presence to engage, inspire and influence
· Desire to represent DANI/Dani’s Place in the community, attending events and other social gatherings, building personal relationships on behalf of DANI/Dani’s Place and with the objective of raising awareness and funds for the organization.
· Appreciation of, a sensitivity to, and respect for Persons with Special Needs and their Families.
. Must be able to function as a member of a team, ability to work under pressure and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Salary: Commensurate with experience. $90,000 - $110,000 per annum
