Director of Manufacturing

Introduction
The Director of Pharmaceutical Manufacturing will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing our pharmaceutical manufacturing operations. Reporting to the VP of Operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of manufacturing processes and the successful onboarding of new programs. Your primary focus will be on achieving operational goals, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and driving continuous improvements
Responsibilities
- Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth, fostering a high-performing and engaged team.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental protection rules and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, GMPs, and relevant guidelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and other departments to implement best practices and achieve operational excellence.
- Drive improvements in pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities and processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Support audits, investigations, and corrective actions related to GMP compliance and contract manufacturing/testing activities.
- Coordinate with engineering and facility support groups, as well as external contractors, to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Support business development efforts in managing client relationships and identifying growth opportunities.
- Provide strategic direction, planning, and tactical oversight for pharmaceutical manufacturing operations, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Collaborate with the VP of Operations to develop and implement manufacturing strategies that support uninterrupted product supply.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues related to equipment, facilities, and processes.
- Represent the company when interfacing with clients, providing professional and timely support.
- Identify and implement technology solutions to support business development and improve systems and processes.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Manage and lead a team of production shift managers/supervisors and their respective teams.
- Develop training plans for production operators and monitor progress to ensure effective qualification.
- Collaborate with quality assurance and regulatory affairs teams to meet operational and quality objectives.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to team leads and supervisors/managers, ensuring clarity of goals and expectations.
- Oversee daily operations, monitor progress, and drive the completion of tasks and projects.
Requirements
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- In-depth knowledge of GMPs and relevant regulatory guidelines.
- 5+ years experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing facility
- Bachelor's degree in science/engineering or relevant field.
- Experience in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment is desirable.
- Strong understanding of operational excellence principles.
- Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- 5-10 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, preferably in a leadership role.
