As the Compliance Director, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing our compliance efforts, particularly in relation to our application for a crypto license. We are seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations and a proven track record of successful involvement in crypto-related compliance initiatives. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that our operations meet the highest standards of regulatory compliance, within the framework of US legal work authorization.

Responsibilities

Crypto License Application:

• Stay up-to-date with evolving crypto regulatory landscapes and apply this knowledge to strengthen our license application.
• Collaborate with legal and regulatory teams to compile the necessary documentation, reports, and evidence for the application process.
• With the guidance of one of the best law firms in the country, lead the development and execution of our crypto license application, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

AML Expertise:

• Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of robust AML policies and procedures specific to our crypto operations.
• Provide expert guidance on AML regulations as they pertain to the crypto industry.
• Conduct regular AML risk assessments and due diligence on clients, partners, and transactions, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Internal Compliance Oversight:

• Monitor and assess the effectiveness of compliance programs, making recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Establish and lead a compliance team, providing mentorship, guidance, and training to ensure a culture of compliance throughout the organization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed compliance into business processes, products, and services.

External Relations:

• Build and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, industry associations, and relevant stakeholders to stay informed about the latest compliance trends and developments.
• Serve as the main point of contact for regulatory authorities and external auditors during the crypto license application process.

Reporting and Documentation:

• Prepare and submit regular reports to executive leadership and regulatory authorities regarding our compliance activities and progress towards obtaining the crypto license.
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation related to compliance efforts, policies, procedures, and due diligence findings.

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to analyze complex regulatory requirements and develop actionable compliance solutions.
• Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
• Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to build, manage, and inspire a compliance team.
• Excellent knowledge of international AML regulations and standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively across departments and with external stakeholders.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a compliance role, with a focus on Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations, preferably within the crypto industry.
