What does this challenge consist of?
Under the authority of the Vice President of IT, Region Americas, as the Director of IT, you will be responsible for overseeing the company's information technology systems and infrastructure serving all departments and Target Markets across the Canadian division. You will provide strategic leadership, manage IT resources, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver efficient and secure technology solutions that align with the company's objectives. This position requires a deep understanding of IT operations, project management, and team leadership.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Be The Following Ones-
  • Monitor and evaluate IT performance metrics, conducting regular audits and implementing improvements as necessary.
  • Oversee the design, implementation and maintenance of the company’s IT systems, infrastructure, and networks.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and digital solutions to enhance efficiency, productivity, and business operations.
  • Execute IT strategy and direction ensuring alignment with the company’s overall goals and objectives.
  • Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversea service level agreements to ensure optimal delivery of IT services.
  • Lead a team of IT professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and fostering a culture of collaboration, team spirit and innovation.
  • Oversee and implement effective IT system backup strategies, ensuring the secure and reliable storage of business-critical data.
  • Ensure comprehensive IT disaster recovery procedures are maintained, in place, and that regular testing of the IT Business Continuity plan is conducted to ensure its effectiveness and ability to mitigate potential disruptions to business systems and data.
  • Assist in planning of the IT budget, for resource allocation and technology investments.
We Need Your Skills
  • Experience working with SAP software is an asset.
  • Business travel planned between 10% and 15%
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Apps, Automate and Power BI is an asset.
  • Strong ability for teamwork.
  • Experience working with SmartSheets project planning is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 Applications (MS Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint)
  • Experience in multi-site manufacturing environments within a global company.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both Canadian official languages
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with teams across the entire organization.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and priority management skills.
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and security, including hardware, software, networking, and cloud technologies.
  • Experience with Salesforce
  • Proven experience with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role within an IT department, preferably as an IT Manager or similar role.
