Job Description

Overview:

Elevate Capital is looking for an experienced Credit & Ops Manager to be an integral part of our team.If you are the one, we see your duties and responsibilities fitting typically into two categories: credit risk evaluation and operations. Our Credit & Ops Manager will be an integral part of our team and will report directly to the President of Elevate Capital. As a start-up, you will be involved in almost everything we do, from first contact with the Customer, thru to onboarding, funding, and all the way to repayment. You will use your strong communication skills to cultivate strong relationships with your manager, your team, Elevate’s partners, and most importantly, the customer.If you are motivated and results-driven and enjoy working in a team environment, we’d like to meet you.If you are a junior candidate with growth potential and ambition, you should also read on.


About the company:

Elevate Capital is a working capital solutions provider focused 100% on small and medium-sized Canadian exporters. The company is part of the Elevate Group of Companies, whose mission is to empower exporters and importers to grow their business through international financing and risk management solutions. Elevate Capital launched in January 2023 with its first product, a Receivables Purchase product and will shortly move into Purchase Order financing. The Elevate Group works closely with Export Development Canada in helping Canadian exporters succeed internationally.


WHAT YOU’LL DO

·You’ll be part of the Management Team at Elevate Capital.

·You’ll evaluate potential clients and their customers’ creditworthiness.

·You’ll evaluate the quality of our client’s receivables and determine the repayment risk of the buyer.

·You’ll assess the governance and ESG risks of your customer.

·You’ll assess the country risk of the markets that your customer is selling to.

·You’ll onboard clients and train them on our platform.

·You’ll work with our insurance provider to onboard new buyers under our policy.

·You’ll track repayments and where necessary, collect on overdues.

·You’ll monitor our portfolio and be diligent about our repayment schedules.

·You’ll report as required to Management on the portfolio.

·Other duties and projects as assigned by management.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Finance, Factoring, or Fintech background experience working in a startup environment.
  • Takes initiative and has a keen eye for detail, identifying areas of improvement within processes.
  • Technically strong with Excel and able to function efficiently in Elevate’s Factoring Platform.
  • Enjoys the opportunity to collaborate with different teams.
  • Comfortable working with numbers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • BCom, CFA, CPA,
  • 2-4 years of credit underwriting experience.

Our Downtown Toronto office is open, and we encourage Elevate Capital employees to use it. Based on business needs, Elevate expects its employees to spend a minimum of two days a week in its downtown office.
