Job Description
Reporting to Director of Operations, the individual will work closely with credit card product teams and key business partners to manage day to day credit card operations with a focus on key responsibilities - credit card statements, TSYS user acceptance testing, digital wallet management/oversight. As a Senior Manager of Operations, the successful candidate will develop a strong operating model to ensure change management activities are executed to increase efficiency while mitigating bank and customer risk. In the role, the successful candidate will manage a team and foster a culture aligned to BMO purpose, values and strategy. The individual will develop and establish a strong partnership with internal and external partners to ensure they are aligned with our group objectives.


  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.
  • Makes recommendations to senior leaders on strategy and new initiatives, based on an in-depth understanding of the business/group.
  • Strong system knowledge - TSYS, Quadient, Visa/Mastercard systems, ApplePay/GooglePay
  • In-depth understanding of testing strategies and ability to manage multiple initiatives at once
  • Expert knowledge of credit card operations
  • Ability to breakdown complex issues and delegate tasks to support a quick resolution
  • Applies expertise and thinks creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and to find solutions to problems that can be complex and non-routine.
  • Implements changes in response to shifting trends.
  • Moderate technical knowledge related to programming/coding logic



Qualifications:


  • Strong knowledge of process coordination and management.
  • Able to manage ambiguity.
  • Analytics and reporting – in-depth
  • Negotiation skills – good
  • In-depth risk management associated with new and existing product development and management.
  • Collaboration & team skills; with a focus on cross-group collaboration - In-depth / Expert.
  • Strong knowledge of banking product management and associated industry and regulatory requirements.
  • Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience and industry knowledge.
  • Financial Understanding – good/in-depth
  • Strong experience with consumer / commercial credit applicable to retail and business financing products.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills - In-depth / Expert.
  • Relationship management – in-depth
  • Verbal & written communication skills - In-depth / Expert.
  • Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in Business or a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Building business cases - in-depth
  • Strong knowledge of product delivery infrastructure systems and underlying product interdependencies.
  • Influence skills - In-depth / Expert.
  • In-depth retail and business banking environmental awareness / understanding.
  • Data driven decision making - In-depth / Expert.
  • Software and systems architecture knowledge – good/in-depth
  • Strong experience working with retail and business product fundamentals, including product design, functionality, and related policies and procedures
