Your opportunity:


The University Development team advances U of T’s collective efforts to achieve the ambitious revenue and engagement goals of the Defy Gravity campaign. We accomplish this through a variety of centrally-managed fundraising programs and a collaborative approach that nurtures partnerships and delivers exceptional donor and volunteer experiences to our alumni and friends.


We hire outstanding people from a variety of backgrounds and currently seek a Coordinator, International Advancement to join our diverse talent. The successful candidate will support the Director, International Advancement in furthering an exciting, University-wide strategy to leverage our fundraising success in the Asia-Pacific region, playing a valuable role in focusing and integrating the activities of senior leaders, divisional partners and others who are contributing to a variety of high-impact goals in the region.


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Maintaining senior staff calendars
  • Assessing needs and contributing to the development and implementation of plans for prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation and recognition
  • Collecting basic development-related information
  • Drafting donor acknowledgment and recognition communications
  • Handling sensitive and/or confidential information
  • Fostering positive relationships with prospective and existing donors
  • Generating reports


Essential Qualifications:


  • Demonstrated advanced computer proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), database and fundraising software, and email.
  • Experience preparing reports from multiple data sources
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks and conflicting deadlines
  • Ability to work independently, set and reorder priorities and act in an anticipatory manner with minimal supervision.
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience providing support in philanthropy and in other fundraising environments
  • Experience in conducting basic development-related research
  • Experience creating donor correspondence from template non-template documents
  • Ability to demonstrate tact, diplomacy, sensitivity, and discretion in dealing with individuals of affluence and influence
  • Flexibility and demonstrated initiative to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and changing environment
  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Ability to effectively and clearly communicate both verbally and in writing with stakeholders to include students, alumni, staff, faculty, and donors


Assets (Nonessential):


  • Knowledge of and / or interest in the Asia-Pacific region considered an asset.
  • Experience with fundraising database ARBOR or related database considered an asset

USW Pay Band 10 -- $63,720 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $81,485. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
