Construction Manager – Remote within Nova Scotia

Profile:
In this exciting role as the Construction Manager, you are primarily responsible for leading the various industrial construction projects ASL is undertaking in Nova Scotia. You will oversee the planning, execution, and successful completion of construction projects while ensuring adherence to safety standards and project specifications. These projects will be in Cornwallis, Yarmouth, and possibly Charlesville.
Your Role:
- Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives in construction processes.
- Identify and execute cost saving opportunities.
- Manage project budgets, including cost estimation, tracking, and control.
- Prepare project reports and documentation, including progress updates and final evaluations.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Oversee project schedules, ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
- Provide technical guidance and support to construction personnel and Acadian decision makers.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess project status, quality, and adherence to specifications.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve construction-related issues.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in developing building designs.
- Oversee the selection and management of contractors and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, codes, and standards throughout the construction process.
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of industrial construction projects.
Qualifications/Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
- Knowledge of construction-related systems and technologies
- Experience in managing construction projects from initiation to completion.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, including MS Project
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial construction projects
- Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and construction management software
- Additional certifications or training in project management and construction will be considered assets.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and practices considered an asset.
