Construction Project Manager Jobs

Our client is looking for a Construction Project Manager to join their team in Windsor, Ontario. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all construction, engineering and technical aspects of assigned projects to assure the highest level of accuracy and quality while collaborating with the team.

This is an On-Site, Full-Time role and is an opportunity to gain valuable experience with a market-leading, trusted automotive service contractor offering competitive compensation and benefits.

Responsibilities:

• Manage pre-construction budgeting/schedule stage, procurement, design compliance and contract closeout.
• Responsible for the entire construction project of a major infrastructure facility, from pre-construction phase to completion.
• Involve in ensuring all legal requirements, building and safety codes, safety inspections, and government guidelines and regulations are met.
• Develop cost-effective schedules for completion of projects.
• Overseeing day-to-day construction activities and the successful execution of construction activity.
• Provide accurate estimates for all supplies and resources.
• Ensure work is completed in accordance with construction plans and specifications.
• Supervise construction project progress and providing reports on timelines, progress, and adjustments.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with vendors to ensure effective coordination of all aspects of the project.
• Verify all applicable project permits are secured in accordance with the project requirements.
• Negotiate and prepare contracts, purchase and change orders.
• Track key project milestones and tasks.
• Solicit bids, evaluate proposals, and select the best contractors and suppliers.
• Delegate direction during the construction process from preconstruction to final stages of construction.

Qualifications:

• Experience and working knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and regulations
• Strong interpersonal skills with a professional, positive “can-do” attitude.
• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Project Management /Civil Engineering/Construction Management or similar field or relevant experience
• Strong analytical, multi-tasking, and problem-solving capabilities.
• At least 5 years of experience in a management role in the construction industry
• Excellent time-management skills and has a strong sense of “urgency”
• Experience working both independently and in a team environment.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Experience and proficiency with project management software and tools
