Construction Coordinator Jobs

The required duties are to provide Construction Supervision as directed by our Client’s Management within the Project and Shut Down Management Department. The role will be located and accountable for project and shut down (PMP) related contract work at our Client’s Thompson Mine location.

Deliverables

Your duties shall include, but are not limited to the following;

Safety

• Enter and manage all incident/injury reports as required to document safety incidents, conditions and near misses through the course of the Project and ensure the appropriate action plans are developed to deal with patterns, conditions and behaviors.
• Monitor and audit External Service Providers’ compliance to Safety Training Requirements (i.e. Norcat, Indoctrinations, ZES, etc.)
• Participate in the creation and auditing of PHRs, JHAs, MOCs, Lift Plans as required for the safe execution of work
• Supervise the safe execution of field project work (executed by external or internal resources) as required.
• Reflect Safety activities in the work order and associated schedule
• Monitor and audit compliance to the safety controls, Project Safety Plan and other Client Standards

Scope

• Monitor contractor work approvals, site access, quality, efficiency, qualifications, and safety
• Monitor changes in work scope and represent owner in the scope change authorization process, as established in the project procedures
• Coordinate and resolve contract issues with support from peers (Engineering), Contract Management Office, Safety Supervisors and Procurement.
• Coordinate with Site Operations/Logistics to facilitate the project work being executed by External Resource Providers
• Supervise project work (executed by external or internal resources) as required
• Assist in the creation of work methodology for Risk Assessments (PHRs or JHAs)
• Requisition materials, parts, services in SAP as required to meet Project deliverables
• Manage contractor Level and gate access process for all contracts
• Enter notifications and promote to Work Order for identified work during the execution of the project
• Maintain a log of work execution and safety activities
• Provide construction coordination and oversight for Capital and Operating projects
• Assist Project Leads in the development of the scope of work, work design planning and the execution phase of projects as requested (Capital, Operating and Planned Maintenance Period)
• Coordinate service contractor work
• Update work orders through time confirmation and confirmations comments on the status of the executed and remaining work daily.

Schedule

• Provide updates to the Project lead and Superintendent on schedule adherence, slippage and actions to be taken to make milestones, additional tasks required (FWI) to complete the project, along with impact to schedule and mitigation actions
• Assist in the development of detailed work designs (task, ops, materials) to adequately plan and schedule the work in SAP so that work can be integrated with the site scheduling activities
• Identify actions required to achieve project milestones as slippage or additional scope is encountered.

Quality

• Perform end state audits for quality and operational readiness
• TECO orders at project completion once final confirmations, requisitions, reservations are complete
• Ensure adequate contractor audits for quality, qualifications, compliance, invoice auditing are performed including the support from the project engineer.
• Monitor the preparation and accuracy of as-built documentation.
• Manage the identification, classification and recertification of the construction punch list to ensure contractors deliver scope according to contract obligations.

Qualifications

Previous supervisory experience in an unionized work environment is mandatory (minimum 5 years).

Underground work experience is an asset.
