The Environmental Assessment Office (EAO) is a dynamic workplace with a talented, team-oriented professional staff. The EAO is a stand-alone regulator which undertakes rigorous, thorough reviews (Environmental Assessments, or EAs) of major projects in British Columbia. Corporate Services Division supports the work of the EAO by leading finance, facilities, records & FOI, human resources, organizational learning & development, and strategic planning functions for the entire organization.


This position provides a variety of office administrative, and financial support services for the business unit.


Job Requirements


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent.
  • Two years clerical/administrative support experience or combination of education/training and experience.
  • A minimum of one year demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office computer applications (i.e. Outlook, Word and Excel), including preparation of spreadsheets.
  • Experience in basic accounting or bookkeeping such as Accounts Payable and/or Receivable and tracking expenditures.


Preference May Be Given To Those Applicants With


  • Experience in electronic records management databases such as EDRMS.
  • Contract administration experience.
  • Experience working with financial database systems, such as CAS Oracle Financials.
  • One or more years of experience in basic accounting or bookkeeping such as Accounts Payable and/or Receivable and tracking expenditures.

  • Successful completion of security screening requirements of the BC Public Service, which may include a criminal records check, and/or Criminal Records Review Act (CRRA) check, and/or enhanced security screening checks as required by the ministry (Note: It is important that you read the job posting carefully to understand the specific security screening requirements pertaining to the position).

Flexible work options are available, this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved Telework Agreement
