The Opportunity
We are looking for a Finance & Administration Manager to join our team! Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be responsible for our company’s financial and administrative activities, including full cycle bookkeeping, AR/AP, banking, and budgeting/forecasting. You will also manage basic HR administrative tasks including payroll, benefits administration, vacation, expenses, and employee on/off-boarding, and oversee the general security and maintenance of the office. In this role, you will be able to contribute to management decisions and make a significant impact on a growing business.
As our Finance & Administration Manager, you will:
- Support the financial planning process by creating budgets, forecasts and variance reports for management
- Ensure compliance with applicable tax and accounting laws
- Manage all banking transactions on behalf of the company including international payments and foreign exchange
- Organize, manage, and file company records, documents, and receipts
- Monitor cash position and coordinate with CEO to ensure financing needs are met, exploring financial products and services to improve and cash flow
- Perform basic HR duties including benefits administration, vacation management, expense reimbursement and employee on/off-boarding
- Develop, document and maintain financial policies, processes and controls
- Maintain the general ledger and post transactions in the company’s accounting and ERP software (Oracle NetSuite)
- Prepare monthly/quarterly/yearly financial reports as needed by banks and external accountants
- Maintain the general security, organization and maintenance of the office and storage areas, including supply re-orders
- Perform financial analysis and investigate ways to improve financial performance, providing feedback to the CEO
- Perform full cycle financial accounting duties (A/R, A/P, budgeting, financial reporting, adjusting entries, reconciliations, GST/PST/HST, T4, ROE, payroll processing for 10-15 employees, and year-end financial reporting)
We are hoping you bring:
- Experience with ERP accounting systems (ideally NetSuite) a plus
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in finance or accounting
- Advanced analytical and MS Excel skills
- Knowledge of office and HR administration responsibilities, systems, and procedures
- 5+ years of related work experience in operational accounting
- Experience with inventory accounting, wholesale distribution, or import/export a plus
- CPA in progress or completed a plus
