As a Clinical Support Coordinator with Vancouver Coastal Health you will

• Work in collaboration with relevant stakeholders to support the development, successful implementation and ongoing maintenance and evaluation of the clinical information system(s).
• Collaborate with stakeholders in the planning, development and implementation of changes relating to designated clinical systems policies, procedures and standards.
• Act as a resource for change of practice with respect to implementation of additional systems/applications/tools, documentation, clinical protocols, care planning, quality indicators, outcomes and resource utilization groups.
• Use clinical knowledge and expertise, strong facilitation skills, as well as knowledge of the technology to evaluate impact of policies, procedures and standards, to identify clinical issues arising from implementation and to ensure that clinical practice and clinical decision support guides the introduction of the new processes.
• Consult, confer and collaborate with care providers, clinicians, educators, project team members, managers and technical staff to resolve clinical applications training and maintenance issues; provides and coordinates applicable follow-up activities.
• Provide education and training for staff utilizing clinical systems knowledge and expertise, along with teaching and learning principles and processes.

Education & Experience

• Valid driver’s license to operate a vehicle within the Province of British Columbia.
• Master’s Degree in a Health Sciences Profession.
• Supplemented with a minimum of three (3) year's recent, related experience in the designated clinical areas, including one (1) years’ experience in a clinical informatics role, and in design, adoption, implementation and sustainment of a clinical information system or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Local area travel requires the use of a vehicle for which mileage is reimbursed in accordance with the collective agreement.

Knowledge & Abilities

• Comprehensive knowledge of clinical procedures and standards of care.
• Comprehensive knowledge of electronic clinical information systems, including CST/Cerner system and other electronic health records systems.

Knowledge of Clinical Tools

• Demonstrated ability to effectively work with individuals and groups in a consultative/collaborative manner.
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in a constantly changing environment.
• Demonstrated ability to assess learning needs, prepare training plans, develop instruction strategies and evaluate outcomes of training programs.
• Demonstrated knowledge of teaching and learning principles, methods and tools.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and to facilitate group process.
• Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize workload in a self-directed manner.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
• Demonstrated ability to understand change dynamics and change management processes.
• Demonstrated ability to teach, present, facilitate, coach and mentor.
• Demonstrated ability to set priorities and organize workload in collaboration with others.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.

As per the current Public Health Orders (Long Term Care/Seniors Assisted Living Provincial Health Officer Order and the Health Sector Order), as of October 26, 2021, all employees working for Vancouver Coastal Health must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
