Summary Of The Position

Reporting to the Category Manager, the Category Analyst will support the execution of Biscuits Leclerc's business plan by assisting the sales team in the tactical execution of our plans, strategies, and developments of products. The category analyst will be responsible for identifying market opportunities for specific clients and disseminating information resulting from their analyses. The analyst will also help the sales team by providing recommendations to address various issues related to in-store positioning, pricing and customer promotional strategies.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Account Directors supporting their business initiatives and achieve overall sales targets.
• Structure and maintain a general source of analysis around customer data;
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the industry, staying up to date on emerging trends and best practices;
• Generate reports with syndicated and internal data sources to support category development strategy
• Monitor and measure point of sale data and promotional data to identify trends and growth opportunities and potential risks;
• Develop and present analytics by category and account to support key sales initiatives;
• Provide analysis and insights to drive excellence in sales team execution and cost control initiatives through process improvement;
• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) that will enable us to monitor the performance of our brands with each of our customers and contribute to decision-making;
• Analyze available databases (Nielsen, IRI, RL, etc.) to identify and communicate category trends to clients;
• Interpret research and category performance results and incorporate them into client reviews as requested;
• Establish best practices for reports and maintain regular reporting and scorecard updates;
• Participate, if necessary, in meetings with customers in support of the sales team;

Required Skills And Competencies

• Be autonomous with the ability to work independently and as part of a team;
• Strong time management organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail;
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex information and data into clear and actionable recommendations;
• Familiarity with any of the following (IRI, Retail Link, JDA)
• 2+ years of experience in the CPG industry;
• Complete working knowledge of NielsenIQ
• General curiosity and willingness to adopt and learn new approaches to analyzing data.
• University degree or equivalent in business-related courses;
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written – in English and French;
