What You Will Do

Essential responsibilities will include:

• Develop/maintain drawing folder structures, file naming conventions and drawing revision/versions as applicable.
• Attend regular design development meetings, provide proactive coordination between disciplines.
• Be familiar with client standards and procedures.
• Quality review (QC/QA) of CAD files and submission drawings
• Create/update and manage existing base files and reference drawings (surveying) as assigned.
• Preparing engineering drawings for all infrastructure components associated with water and wastewater projects in accordance with applicable project CAD Design Standards.
• Create/update and release drawing packages to be submitted to clients for third party reviews, reports, or submissions
• Complete task procedures, methods, and work systems to ensure effective and efficient internal operations.
• Incorporating and compiling multiple sub-plans/designs into consolidated master plan and/or 3D Design models
• Establish and maintain good communications and relationships.
• Civil 3D, Microstation and Open Roads knowledge of municipal (water & wastewater) infrastructure projects including but not limited to preparation of 3D surface from survey and SUE data, create alignments, plan & profiles, sections & details, assemblies & sub-assemblies, corridors, and pipe network utilizing Xref and Data Shortcuts features.
• Keep up to date on all modern advancement in material and software technologies
• Work with engineers, technicians and other team members to complete projects in a timely and effective manner.
• Assist all disciplines with design changes based on your expertise.

Education | Experience:

Minimum Requirements

• Strong commitment to innovation by creating new and better ways to solve client’s toughest challenges.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited University or College in Engineering.
• Ability to communicate complex design and planning issues to internal and external stakeholders including project team, and department management.
• Experience delivering 2D & 3D AutoCAD / Microstation drawings related to water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with various municipal and provincial design and drafting standards.
• Experience with the transportation sector delivering projects with Metrolinx and TTC CADD standards is an asset.
• Independent, organized, resourceful, and motivated team player with excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Client focused, always striving to give client’s the best solutions.
• Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence.
• Requires ten plus (4+) years of demonstrated relevant experience in the production and management of multi discipline design and transit/transportation CAD drawings and drawing environments using Bentley MicroStation and ProjectWise.
• Formal training and experience in BIM 360, Open Roads, In Road, Revit is considered a strong asset.
• In addition, knowledge of MS Excel and Word, as well as computer skills such as networking, hardware/software installations, configurations, and troubleshooting is desired.
