The Business Process Improvement (BPI) Manager II is responsible for leading distinct projects and/or work-streams on larger projects to improve the business processes of the organization and ensuring operational readiness to drive the desired outcomes. This role will often engage with Business Sponsors and/or Leads before project initiation to help clarify and formalize the project goals, objectives and scope. In addition to project specific work, the Business Process Improvement (BPI) Manager II may consult with Business Leaders to help define the need for new and/or enhanced services or optimized business processes and provide advice on business requirements and the usability of technology solutions.
This role is accountable to support the management and oversight of business process improvement practices and standards utilized in the execution / support of material change projects. This position will work with the Senior Manager, Business Process Improvement to efficiently and effectively support the timely execution of material change projects in the bank.
This role will also be accountable to provide resources and mentorship to Business Process Analyst(s) in support of the banks material change projects. This includes hiring, managing and strategically resourcing to ensure the capabilities of the team are in alignment with the changing needs of the Bank.
The Core Parts Of Your Role Would Be To
  • Partner with functional support groups to implement process improvements
  • Help drive business process improvement efforts across Equitable Bank to ensure standardization, efficiencies and best practices are employed while leveraging system, automation and other solutions as needed
  • Ensure best practices and project/process management tools are applied to help solve business challenges
  • Review internal project/process management methodologies to look for opportunities for continuous improvements to maintain relevance with best practices
  • Lead the business process design work on large enterprise projects
  • In the support of a material change project:
  • Lead highly complex, business process improvement initiatives and provide subject matter expertise and thought leadership to the business process stakeholders
Let’s Talk About You
  • Ability to create and deliver training
  • Lead the development of future state business processes
  • Experienced in applying process integration practices to complex environments
  • Effectively adhere to Process Excellence Methodologies such as Lean/Six Sigma
  • Document and clearly articulate BPI responsibilities for each assigned engagement.
  • Map and analyze business processes as required
  • Contribute to the development of a business process repository
  • Other certifications (Business Analysis, ITIL, Change Management, or PMP) considered an asset
  • Gather and analyze business process data as required
  • A post-secondary education diploma/degree in business or qualification in business administration, computer information systems or a related field
  • Communicate project status and issues to stakeholders
  • Stay self-motivated despite challenges.
  • Experience leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) such as Robotic Process Automation (RPA) or Machine Learning (ML) etc. to enhance business processes or solve business challenges is a bonus
  • Ability to effectively assess stakeholder impacts and to engage, manage and quickly gain credibility with business and technology stakeholders
  • 7+ years of experience leading business process improvement initiatives and material change projects
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal
  • Train and coach operations staff on process changes
  • Optimistic mind-set and strong collaboration skills
  • Expert level knowledge of business process improvement practices including, Lean/Six Sigma Methodology (Six Sigma Black Belt Preferred)
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities for process improvements
  • Proficient computer skills including MS Office, MS Project, MS Visio and SharePoint
  • Sound technical knowledge of secured lending and factors affecting the mortgage market an asset
  • Ability to collaborate with support groups to implement improvements
  • Support the implementation of changes to the business processes
  • Proven experience delivering projects with multiple approaches and methodologies
  • Lead the development of process measurement standards
  • Strong advocate and focus on customer experience
  • Experience within the financial services sector

The incumbent will be working hybrid and in office time will be spent working from Equitable Bank’s additional office space located at 351 King Street East, Toronto, ON.
