The Work

The BPI Process Designer is responsible for both supporting large projects as well as leading small to medium initiatives such as automation opportunities to improve business processes across the organization. This role requires collaboration with Business Sponsors to analyze data, map processes and communicate opportunities for the initiatives that they are supporting. In addition, the Process Designer will be required to lead and facilitate process design sessions with stakeholders for the initiatives they are supporting as required.
The Business Process Improvement team is expected to leverage process excellence best practices such as Lean Six Sigma to design both efficient and scalable processes in order to accommodate future growth. By identifying and eliminating inefficiencies in our processes, we aim to improve the quality of our products and services, reduce costs, and ultimately increase customer satisfaction. Our team strives to empower our members to be agents of change and problem solvers, while continuously improving our processes to achieve operational excellence.
The Core Parts Of Your Role Would Be To
  • Help drive business process improvement efforts across Equitable Bank to ensure standardization, efficiencies and best practices are employed
  • Partner with functional support groups to implement process improvements
  • Communicate project status and issues to stakeholders
  • Lead/support continuous improvement or cost saving initiatives
  • Drive Continued Efficiency and Maturity of BPI
  • Provide subject matter expertise and thought leadership to the business process stakeholder
  • Support the Intelligent Process Automation Program by identifying/assessing the viability of automation opportunities and support development activities such as documenting requirements and testing etc.
  • Map and analyze current state business processes as required
  • Lead business process design work on small to medium in complexity initiatives and support process discovery work
  • Document and clearly articulate BPI scope/responsibilities for each assigned engagement
  • Ensure best practices and process management tools are applied to help solve business challenges
  • Design future state processes as required
  • Effectively adhere to Process Excellence Methodologies such as Lean/Six Sigma
Let’s Talk About You
  • Ability to effectively engage, manage and quickly gain credibility with business and technology stakeholder
  • Knowledge of leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) such as Robotic Process Automation (RPA) or Machine Learning (ML) etc. to enhance business processes or solve business challenges is a bonus
  • Stay self-motivated despite challenges
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal
  • Proficient with business process improvement practices including, Lean/Six Sigma Methodology (Six Sigma Green Belt preferred)
  • Proven experience delivering projects with multiple approaches and methodologies
  • A post-secondary education diploma/degree in business or qualification in business administration, computer information systems or a related field.
  • Proficient at Process Mapping
  • Optimistic mind-set and strong collaboration skills
  • Ability to create and deliver training
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform tools is a bonus (examples: Power BI, Power Automate etc.)
  • Strong advocate and focus on customer experience
  • 5+ years of experience leading business process improvement initiatives and material change projects.
  • Proficient computer skills including MS Office, MS Project, MS Visio, and SharePoint
  • Experience within the financial services sector
  • Experience with applying process integration practices to complex environments.
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Knowledge of Confluence and JIRA

The incumbent will be working hybrid and in office time will be spent working from Equitable Bank’s additional office space located at 351 King Street East, Toronto, ON.
