We are looking for a proactive, driven, and highly motivated Finance professional to join our Finance team as a Process Improvement Leader. You will act as a Finance subject matter expert and guide our finance teams on process improvement projects, ensuring they have proper internal controls in place and are adhering to regulatory and reporting requirements. We are looking for an experienced Finance professional who has experience leading process improvement initiatives. We are currently hiring for several positions, each supporting a different Finance team: Corporate Accounting, Financial Reporting, Actuarial, and Investments. This is a Director-level position.
Responsibilities:
- Relationship Building: Initiating and building effective relationships with colleagues in other departments, leveraging strong interpersonal and influencing skills to support and develop effective cross-departmental relations and work initiatives
- Leading process improvement projects working with a project team to achieve a step change in key business metrics
- Innovation: Implementing programs that encourage, recognize, and reward innovative thinking; supports the introduction of new ideas, methods, or processes
- Work Organization/Project Management: Developing and implementing plans for others, anticipating current and future needs and objectives; managing resources and ensuring tasks are completed on time and within budget
- Supporting development of Management Systems (process controls, metrics & reporting, training, etc.)
- Delivering formal and informal training with the business and new Process Improvement Leaders to train on process improvement methodology
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to identify control gaps and operational risks associated with finance operations and developing/implementing appropriate and effective solutions
- Effective and concise communicator
- Strong self-initiative with ability to take ownership of challenges and take appropriate action
- Fast learning and clear critical thinking skills
- CPA/CFA/MBA designation
- 7+ years’ work experience in financial reporting, corporate accounting, etc.
- Strong understanding of IFRS, including policy research
