Lead Process Engineer

(Toronto, Full-Time, Hybrid)



Our Head Office in Toronto is growing, and we are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and have strong work ethics. Are you a seasoned Process Engineering professional who is friendly, organized, flexible, self-starter and highly motivated? Reporting to the SVP of Engineering and Operations, you are experienced in process engineering, will be instrumental in optimizing system performance, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving innovative solutions. You are comfortable overseeing the planning, execution, and monitoring of process and mechanical engineering components on all of our projects.




YOUR DAY-TO-DAY

  • Collaborate with internal and external research and technical teams to advance Hydrostor’s core Compressed Air Energy Storage technologies.
  • Present updates, findings and recommendations to internal teams and external parties as required.
  • Engage in research and development activities associated with A-CAES technology.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessment to support decision-making processes.
  • Lead the development and implementation of quality control procedures within process engineering.
  • Identify potential risks, and implement mitigation measures for our core process.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes and regulations.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (internally and externally) to ensure seamless adoption of our technology by project partners.
  • Other duties as may be assigned or required, including ad hoc requests.
  • Review technical documentation and provide reporting on deliverables.
  • Collaborate with Project Directors and EPC technical teams to develop project plans, timelines and strategies.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Process or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of process and/or mechanical engineering principles.
  • Proven experience in project or technical management, preferably in energy storage or a related industry.
  • 10 or more years experience in a project delivery environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically in complex technical environments.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • P.Eng is an asset.
