Paint Process Engineersplay a vital role in supporting the production of high quality parts in a Just-in-time environment. By working in one of our production departments, there are endless growth opportunities for anexciting and dynamic careerin the Automotive Industry.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop jigs & fixtures and perform robot programming for the new projects.
  • Attend design reviews to clarify part quality expectations
  • Assures product quality by developing various testing methods, process capabilities and standards
  • Implement process changes and update process plans in order to meets CT and defect ratio.
  • Prepare PFS and MSCNs to countermeasure problems and tune manufacturing procedures
  • Prepare condition standards and startup work instructions.
  • TG Minto may amend the reporting structure and/or duties and responsibilities as business needs require.
  • Conduct trials and implement any new tools to improve quality and manpower efficiency
  • Prepare and update visual control chart
  • Troubleshoot process issues and implement countermeasures.
  • Run HVPT to validate process meets CT and defect ratio.
  • Make sure all processes practice JKK (Ji Koutei-Kanketsu).
  • Confirm part appearance after robot painting and fine tune the process for improvement
  • Attend customer CV build events and initial paint trials at supplier’s facility.
  • Trial paint process and document all the trial results in Trial Summary for process improvement
  • Kiazen processes to eliminate waste and reduce cost.
  • Work with Process Technicians for Preventive maintenance activities on paint booth equipment
  • Work with outside suppliers to improve process performance.
  • Create process plans for assigned painted parts.
  • Provide training and process support to production at SOP and other process engineers.

Education or Experience:

  • Experience working with Paint Processes in an Manufacturing Setting is considered an Asset
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university with engineering specialization; or one to two years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum three years in the automotive industry.


Requirements:

  • Have previous work experience with Paint and Painting Processes
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada - we do not offer sponsership.
  • Automotive manufacturing experience is considered an asset
  • You must be able to bend, reach, lift and perform the other physical requirements of the job. Accommodations can be made.
