Job Description

Location Address: Hybrid (1x/week, some flexibility), 44 King Street W 19th Floor

Contract Duration: 6 months

Extension: Likely to a year

FTE: Possible

Schedule Hours: 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday



Candidate Value Proposition

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a technology migration project with a complete rewrite, working with a full stack developer and responsible for developing and improving a critical application. This position will allow you to assume a high level of responsibility over the project.


Typical Day in Role

  • Working to understand existing in-house legacy application
  • Work on creating test cases, executing test cases, identifying defects, and working with technology team to remediate defects.
  • Writing requirements and understanding all nuances of application behavior, then passing on requirements to the teams full stack developer
  • Gathers requirements from business units and translates those to programmers and developers
  • Support operation readiness, documentation, escalation procedures when required, and technical specs.
  • Will be collaborating with QA, BA support staff (supporting application), developer, DevOps, and senior management
  • Demonstrates an informed knowledge of business functions to resolve problems and capitalize on improvement opportunities


Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:

  • 5+ years experience on a capital markets team (middle and back end)
  • 10+ years experience in a relevant capacity as a BA/BSA
  • 5+ years previous experience leading the replacement and enhancement of a legacy application


Nice-To-Have Skills:

  • Experience with GIC will be an asset
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud and Linux is an asset
  • Experience with any of: Crystal Reports, i-net Crystal Clear, JConnect, Power BI
  • Experience with basic MTM (fair value) accounting will be an asset


Best vs Average: The ideal candidate would have a background working with GICs and would be able to work independently to drive delivery timelines.
