We are looking for a Building Mechanical Engineer with consulting engineering
experience for our client’s Laval office. The incumbent will be called upon to actively
manage the design of residential, commercial, and institutional projects in both the
public (school, hospital, office buildings, municipal buildings, swimming pools, and park
cottages) and private sectors.
Main responsibilities will be:
• Plan, supervise and carry out the design and installation of mechanical systems (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing);
• Determine the concepts used to carry out projects according to the client's requests;
• Coordinate technical deliverables in the search for technical solutions;
• Conduct survey visits;
• Supervise the preparation of plans and specifications;
• Support technical staff (technicians, draftsmen, and other engineers attached to
projects);
• Verify and coordinate work in progress in collaboration with other stakeholders
(architectural, civil, structural, electrical, etc.);
• Prepare budget estimates, as well as plans and specifications reports;
• Participate in site meetings;
• Participate in the partial supervision of the work;
• Any other employment-related duties.
The ideal profile has the following characteristics:
Must have a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (specializing in building) or
building engineering;
• Be a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec;
• Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a consulting engineering firm;
• Excellent knowledge of the standards and codes applicable in Québec;
• Have the ability to represent the company well to its customers;
• Ability to monitor multiple projects simultaneously and work in a team;
• Knowledge of AutoCad software, REVIT an asset;
• Excellent spoken and written French, English an asset;
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
