Job Description

Our client is currently seeking a fully qualified and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for recording and monitoring all financial transactions. This will include invoicing, banking of deposits, processing month-end through trial balance sheets, performing payroll and benefit administration, and managing accounts payable, receivable and collections. As the Bookkeeper you must be naturally detail-oriented and be able to maintain high levels of accuracy at all times. This role is 50% billing and 50% bookkeeping.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

·Keep financial records, maintaining and balancing accounts using accounting software.

·Posting journal entries and reconciling transactions such as accounts payable and receivable, payroll, purchase orders, and bank statements, preparing trial balances of books, maintaining general ledgers and preparing financial statements.

·Preparing monthly accounts receivable statements and invoices.

·Verifying billing transactions and sending invoices to customers.

·Contacting customers with amounts past due to ensure amounts outstanding are collected.

·Calculating and preparing payment for payroll; maintaining salaried and hourly staff time sheets.

·Coordinating yearly financial audit and tax preparation, and compiling information for auditors as needed.

·Responding to queries from staff and external sources such as government agencies and vendors.

·Preparing and submitting all government remittances ensuring adherence to pertinent legislation.

·Maintaining up-to-date knowledge regarding technology and software upgrades.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

·Minimum of 3 – 5 years bookkeeping/accounting experience

·Graduate of an accredited 2- year accounting or bookkeeping program

·Fluency with accounting software

·Superior MS Office, with emphasis on Excel

·Excellent customer service skills

·Excellent written and verbal communication skills
