Corporate Services – Human Resources


Status 1 Contract Full-time; 13-Months


Salary Range $69,273 to $86,593 per annum (plus comprehensive benefits)

Location 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton


Hours of Work 35 hours per week


The Analyst, HRIC & Pay is responsible for carrying out business analysis activities within the Human Resources – Payroll and the Human Resources Information Centre (HRIC). In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and uses extensive PeopleSoft experience and knowledge to resolve problems in a timely manner. As the Analyst, you will monitor the status of data entry, sets processes and offer guidance and assistance to their team as required.


What you will do in this role


  • Work with Payroll Coordinators to ensure all pay impacting entries are audited prior to the pay being finalized
  • Handle detailed inquiries around pay and system that may require policy interpretation or process changes
  • Work with the HRMS team to create and update HRMS training material and provide training
  • Compare current state versus future state to reinforce HRIC and Pay process changes and improvements
  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Acts as a liaison between the Coordinators and Supervisor on escalated issues
  • Take the lead on the annual Performance Management Program operational process, Collective Agreement Increases and Band Minimum Adjustments, and Lieu Time payouts
  • Determine user requirements, conduct gap analysis, and develop and implement changes to HRIC and Pay methodologies, processes, protocols, procedures, and training materials
  • Builds and runs PeopleSoft queries as requested


What the role requires


  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field with at least three (3) years of experience analyzing employee and payroll transactional data in a Human Resources environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Familiarity with issues and challenges unique to the Public Sector
  • Knowledge of OMERS administrations, Employment Standards Act, Labour Relations Act
  • Experience with requirements gathering and documentation
  • Well developed analytical, problem solving, research and data analysis skills
  • Knowledge of CRA tax regulations, pertaining to payroll

  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills to address a variety of audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of discretion, judgment, tact, diplomacy, confidentiality and professionalism

  • Ability to work in fast paced, pressure environment and flexibility to work additional hours as required
  • Interpersonal and customer service skills to maintain effective relations with all levels of internal (staff and management) and external contacts
  • Excellent computer knowledge and demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Visio)

  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft processes related to job data, personal data, position management, time and labour, absence management, benefits and performance appraisals is an asset

Work Mode & Job Location In this role you will have the ability to work remotely and attend on-site when required based on operational requirements at the 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton worksite. The frequency of on-site activities may vary on a weekly basis and based on operational requirements. Your remote work location must be located within the province of Ontario.
