Job Status:Remote, 8:30 to 4:30 (40 hours a week)

Salary:$50,000 – $60,000 based on experience

Position Summary

Provide support to a small business that provides dementia education, sells a variety of resources (e.g., books, etc.) to professionals and other care partners, works with organizations nationally and globally and advocates for positive change in dementia care.Customer service is an important part of this position,as is having a strong understanding of bookkeeping. A positive attitude, reliability, flexibility, and dependability are a must. During the first three months of training, it is expected that this person will make themselves available for in office training as required. There will also be the odd in person meeting that will also be required to be attended in person. Beyond that, this job is fully remote.

Our vision is to change the face of dementia. This will be achieved through education, with a focus on helping professionals and family care partners understand the connections between the brain, a person’s life story, the environment, and behaviour. With an emphasis on enhancing abilities, professionals and other care partners will know how to set environments and individuals up for success, thereby helping each person be the best he/she can be. People will become more hopeful about what the future holds for each and every person living with dementia. Eventually, when DementiAbility becomes ingrained into the norms and “How to’s” of daily dementia care, people will ask, “Didn’t they always do it this way?”

Qualifications
  • Ability to learn new programs (including website navigation for processing purchase orders)
  • Prior bookkeeping and administrative experience
  • Proficiency in Excel, MS Word, Outlook, QuickBooks

Job Requirement
  • Keep on top of email messages
  • Update excel invoices
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proofread documents/resources
  • Process book orders and take to post office to mail
  • Work with IT
  • Some physical work required when preparing and mailing book orders
  • Send workshop materials out in a timely manner
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Process registrations and invoicing for workshops
  • Create certificates for educational events
  • Pay bills
  • Other duties and responsibilities as needed
  • Prepare documentation for, and work closely with, the accountant
  • Experience with bookkeeping
  • Communicate daily with team and participate in team meetings, at least weekly
  • Order office supplies
  • Inventory control, ordering and coordination of printing materials when needed
  • Process invoices for purchase orders (create invoice and send to purchaser)
  • Assist with workshops by supporting speakers presenting on Zoom
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Manage sign-in sheets for workshop
  • Answer phones
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
