Depot Lead Hand (Part-Time, Saturday's Only)

GFL Environmental is looking for a part-time Depot Lead Hand at our Barrie, ON facility! This position would be working on Saturday's from 7:45 am - 4:45 pm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform physically demanding work.
• Have good communication skills to deal with City employees, and the public.
• Maintain clean grounds and facilities
• Report to and receive authorization from the site Supervisor and MHSW Program Co-Ordinator
• Complete reports of waste stored, received, and shipped from site.
• Responsible for assisting in the operation of the City of Barrie MHSW Depot
• Provide excellent customer service to residents visiting the depot.
• Identify, sort, and pack waste chemicals into appropriate storage containers.
• Comply with all rules and regulations to do with operating the depot.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

• Report any accident to the Operations Manager immediately.
• Attend safety committee meetings and follow up on action plans.
• Conduct occasional plant tours as requested.
• Attend meetings at the corporate office as requested.
• Responsible for overall plant safety and assuring that all staff are trained and comply with Health and Safety Policy.
• Include the filling out of all forms with regards to accident investigations and recommendations.
• Manage staff in a professional and courteous manor.
• Assure that all staff and visitors to the plant are wearing the appropriate safety gear when in the plant and have been trained in the correct use.
