Candidate Profile

Key Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Accounting:
- Log collection activities regularly.
- Prepare details/explanations of problems associated with the Allowance for Doubtful Accounts (AFDA) monthly report on a monthly basis.
- Refer problem accounts to Project Engineers (PE) and/or Managing Principal.
- Reconciling accounts.
- Handle collection efforts via telephone calls, emails, mail.
- Assist the group with special projects, including back-up reception work.
- Assist in performing banking, data entry of deposits and filing of daily deposit records, as necessary
- Assist with invoicing which will include:
- Mailing and filing invoices.
- Printing, sorting and distributing statements of account on a monthly basis.
- Respond to client inquiries and other invoice-related issues.
- Updating client information in the system, as necessary.
- Gathering and filing disbursement back-up.
- Create new jobs/projects.
EDUCATION
- Completion of accounting courses through a recognized university or college.
- Minimum 1-2 years of related Accounts Receivable/Collections experience with preference given to those with project based accounting experience in A/E industry.
- Familiarity with consulting engineering and architectural industry is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism and calm composure.
- Committed to providing exceptional client service.
- Ability to self-manage assignments from start to finish with minimal oversight.
- Exceptional organization and time-management skills.
- Able to interact professionally with all levels of business personnel and build strong working relationships.
- Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills with a working knowledge of computerized accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail.
