WISE Trust – Workplace Insurance and Safety Employee Trust – is the defined benefit pension plan for almost 10,000 active, deferred, and retired workplace insurance and safety employees of Ontario.
WISE Trust was established to give the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) and the Ontario Compensation Employees’ Union (OCEU) an equal voice in the administration of the pension plan through a jointly sponsored pension plan. WISE Trust governed by a Board of Trustees, four appointed by the WSIB and four appointed by OCEU.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where you get to support full-cycle accounting functions!
As the Accounting Assistant, you will be responsible for posting journal entries, processing invoices and expense reports, calculating prepayment estimates and accruals, and conducting reconciliations. You will put your attention to detail and analysis skills to work as you assist with assessing our accounting activities and prepare reporting packages.
Position Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting and finance, including posting journal entries, coding and processing invoices, expense reports, and reconciliations.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail skills, continuously thinking about process improvement and efficiency
  • Experience working on an ERP system, MS Dynamics 365 highly preferred
  • Confident using MS Office Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and model building
  • Flexible and experienced working in a small/medium sized organization with moving parts, demonstrating willingness to learn and adapt to new responsibilities as needed
  • Knowledgeable of accounting principles and a high affinity for number
  • Work well with minimal supervision and with an appropriate sense of urgency
Employment Type: Full time, permanent
Compensation: $50,000 to $65,000
