Job Description
  • Report and manage WCB, STD and LTD claims
  • Liaise with the benefits provider regarding applications, status and return to work plans
  • Provide support and advocacy for employees who are experiencing extended sick occurrences and/or workplace illness or injury
  • Provide education in regards to Abilities Management programs
  • Act as a primary contact with WCB by working with medical professionals, WCB claims managers and related agencies
  • Work closely with employees involved in any aspect of the disability management process and conduct return to work meetings as required
  • Interact with all stakeholders in a manner that builds trust, maintains confidentiality, is cooperative and credible
  • Act as primary contact with benefits provider for STD and LTD claims
  • Provide support for managers in balancing an employees accommodation/return to work requirements with the needs of the department and organization
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, managers, and external contacts on disability management matters
  • Facilitate accommodation and return to work processes

Required Experience
  • Working knowledge of Duty to Accommodate
  • Working knowledge of Alberta WCB guidelines, policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of job demands analysis and modified work duties
  • Knowledge of short term and long term disability insurance
  • Working knowledge of HIA, Privacy legislation, Employment Standards and Human Rights as it relates to Disability Management
Minimum Qualifications
  • Completion of WCB sponsored training programs for WCB claims desirable
  • Membership in Canadian Association of Disability Management desirable
  • Certification as a Disability Management Professional (CDMP) desirable
  • Certificate in Disability Management or equivalent experience required
Other Information
  • As workload demands and operational requirements shift, the location, dates and/or hours of work may be changed
  • Individuals hired into all positions must provide verification of their highest level of education.
  • All persons newly hired to DynaLIFEDx must show their confirmation of SIN letter/SIN card and government issued photo ID to Human Resources prior to commencing work.
  • A security clearance with vulnerable sector completed may be required for employees newly hired to DynaLIFEDx
