Mantle Materials Group has an excellent opportunity for a dynamic and self-motivated Land & Resource Coordinator to work full-time in our corporate office located on the south side of Edmonton. We are a small team and are working “in office”. A strong preference will be given to someone who has worked in aggregate development for both private and public gravel operations within the province of Alberta.
Reporting to the President/Chief Operating Officer, the successful candidate will have strong technical skills, administering aggregate license/permit processes for planning, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring technical/operational aggregates program activities. Organizing field projects (e.g., progressive, and final rehabilitation inspections), controlling budget expenditures, monitoring progress and results of projects.
Providing technical/operational leadership, guidance and advice through consultation, negotiations, and conflict resolution with staff, resource industries, clients, and interest groups, ensuring consistent application of legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of aggregate industry experience in a related field
- Field and project management experience is an asset.
- A valid class 5driver’s license required.
- Proven ability to conduct technical planning and coordination of several sites while collaboratively working with others to execute the work.
- Strong working knowledge and experience with Alberta sand and gravel permitting and regulatory requirements.
- Proficient with computer applications such as Global Mapper, AbaData mapping software and GPS systems, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Engineering or Environmental Degree, Technical Diploma or equivalent
Responsibilities:
- Gravel exploration and testing to determine quantity and quality of reserves.
- Ensuring data quality is maintained to enable accurate planning and reporting.
- Manage regulatory reporting, approvals and communications during site development and reclamation process.
- Complete yearly compliance monitoring.
- Public and private land gravel operations planning.
- Working with the operations team to develop annual plans and budgets.
- Field work includes, but is not limited to, biophysical site assessments, pit inspections, environmental audit, reclamation assessments, reclamation monitoring, quantification reporting and GPS mapping.
- Administering aggregate license/permit processes for planning, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring technical/operational aggregate program activities.
