Job Description

Mandatory: You must be located in the Province of Alberta


Reporting to the Director HR&OD, the change management consultant leads the execution of the change management strategies. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that change management learning and development services are delivered effectively to all defined clients, that economies of scale are achieved in meeting similar needs, that techniques and approaches are shared across client groups, and that consistency in messaging is maintained.

The incumbent is also responsible for the planning and implementation of best practice Change Management solutions. These solutions range from client-specific or company-wide organizational effectiveness interventions that address issues such as change management and culture change. The change management consultant is responsible for the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of services that align with and support the achievement of our strategic plan and desired culture including:

Duties

  • Develop and implement a strategy and supporting plans to develop IST’s capability and capacity for change management
  • Support leadership to utilize change management best practices and approaches needed to successfully implement projects and initiatives.
  • Develop actionable change management plans with associated initiatives and strategies that are appropriately scaled and integrated.
  • Analyze problems or issues in a systematic way to identify underlying causes for change resistance.
  • Generate original ideas, formulate change strategies, and develop innovative solutions based on a broad knowledge of change management methodologies and techniques.
  • Apply a structured methodology to lead change management activities
  • Engage in a range of approaches to generate possible resolutions and holistic solutions.
  • Work closely with Project Managers to integrate Change Management activities into project plans.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle.
  • A degree in a related field
  • Experience working within large-scale organizational change efforts.
  • Acute business awareness and understanding of organizational issues and challenges.
  • Experience creating and delivering change management activities within a project structure.
  • Problem solving and root cause identification skills.
  • Ability to work in a changing environment and take on new challenges.
  • Organized with a natural inclination for planning strategy and tactics.
  • Change management certification would be considered a strong asset.
  • Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with and through others.
  • A demonstrated track record (minimum 5 years) of successfully leading the planning and execution of strategic change efforts in support of organization and cultural change.
  • High level of communication skills with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to engage, motivate, coach and mentor team and project members.
  • Demonstrable initiative and resourcefulness.
