Name of the position: Sr. Data Engineer (Python & Py Frameworks Development Expert)
Reports to: Team Lead/Delivery Manager
Department/Project: Engineering
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
As Data Engineer, you will work on one of the world's largest social media platform which deals with a few petabytes of data coming to the system daily. You will contribute as part of R&D self-organized team working in a challenging, innovative environment for our client.
Investigate, create, and implement the solutions for many technical challenges using cutting edge technologies, including building/enhancing BigData processing platform enabling work of software used by hundreds of millions of users.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Main Tasks And Responsibilities

• Obtains tasks from the project lead or Team Lead (TL), prepares functional and design specifications, approves them with all stakeholders.
• Design, implement and maintain pipelines that produce business critical data reliably and efficiently using cloud technology
• Ensures that assigned area/areas are delivered within set deadlines and required quality objectives.
• Constantly improves his/her professional level.
• Addresses area-level risks, provides and implements mitigation plan.
• Responsible for resolving crisis situations within his/her AOR.
• Collaborates with other teams.
• Understand the business drivers and analytical use-cases and translate these to data products
• Updating and optimizing local and metadata models.
• Initiates and conducts code reviews, creates code standards, conventions, and guidelines.
• Developing best practices for data coding to ensure consistency within the system.
• Troubleshooting and optimizing data systems.
• Evaluating existing data systems.
• Provides estimations, agrees task duration with the manager and contributes to project plan of assigned area.
• Reports about area readiness/quality, and raise red flags in crisis situations which are beyond his/her AOR.
• Evaluating implemented data systems for variances, discrepancies, and efficiency.
• Suggests technical and functional improvements to add value to the product;

Required Skills:
Required Education And Experience
Must have:

• Familiarity with BIG Data technologies and concepts.
• Have strong experience in ensuring the integrity and freshness of the data while working on Data Mart, as well as cost attribution frameworks for various multi-tenant platforms.
• University degree in Computer Related Sciences or similar
• Date Engineer Over 5+ years of Python experience with frameworks Flask/CPython/PyPy/FastAPI/Falcon.
• Hands-on experience in performance tuning and scaling high-throughput.
• Rigor in high code quality, automated testing, and other engineering best practices
• Critical Ask:

oDeep Python understanding
oExperience with AWS EC2, Docker, and Jenkins
oBackground in scaling high-throughput, low-latency HTTP services
oContributions to Python frameworks or interpreters like Flask, CPython, PyPy, FastAPI, Falcon, Sanic.
oExcellent project management skills

• Problem Solving Capability(with code):

oExpert in Python coding skill.
oCan work with ambiguous problem statement, ask clarifying questions and build a high level design
oExpert in debugging the issues.
oAble to write effective unit tests.

• Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
• Result oriented approach
• Good English (oral & written) and communication skills in general
• Strong OOPs skills

Would be a plus:

• (Bonus) Experience with GraphQL.
