Reporting Accountant Jobs

Preparing and analyzing financial statements and management’s discussion and analysis for external and internal reporting

Assist in the preparation of monthly consolidation, financial statements and management reports for consolidated and legal entities

CPA with two to four years of post-qualification experience

Support other initiatives of the finance group including developing new disclosures, processes and enhanced reporting

Knowledge of IFRS and continuous disclosure securities regulations

Chartered Professional Accountant with 2 to 3 years work experience post designation

Create and generate regular reports, including daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports, based on organizational requirements

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Data Analysis, Finance, or Information Technology)

Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, SQL, data visualization tools)

Effective communication and collaboration skills

Prepare forecasts for regular fund loading

Perform in-depth variance analysis to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement, and communicate findings to senior management.

Manage complex intercompany transactions within a global organization and collaborate with regional finance teams to resolve intercompany discrepancies.

Assist in ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting requests from senior management.

Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements, staying up-to-date with changes in accounting standards.

Collaborate with various departments, including finance, legal, and operations, to gather data and insights for reporting purposes.

· Proven experience (5+ years) in financial reporting, financial analysis, or accounting.

Depending on qualifications, the successful candidate may be offered a position at a more appropriate level and/or ladder.

Reconcile and prepare working paper support for Employee post-retirement benefits and related schedules (provided through the year)

Develop and maintain Excel models used to support accounting, reporting and compliance requirements

Minimum 6 years of progressive accounting-related experience

Strong financial analysis, reporting and communication skills

Advanced knowledge of Excel, with ability to optimize Excel models

Education or experience in Change Management or Project Management is preferred, but is not required

Remain engaged with, and current on, regulatory requirements that impact ATCO and its partners

A Professional accounting designation (CPA, CMA, CGA, CA) is required. Applicants will be evaluated based on their level of experience

A minimum of 5 years of accounting, regulatory or auditing experience

Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with individuals in a variety of roles, and from various backgrounds

Prepare year-end engagements and tax returns for clients in a variety of industries with efficiency and accuracy

Conduct Notice to Reader engagements, prepare accounting and tax returns, and produce financial statements per regulatory standards

Establish positive relationships with clients and respond effectively to their requests and feedback

Knowledge of the bank’s current regulatory reporting tools, general ledgers, offered products and its related activities.

Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in Financial Reporting, Accounting, Regulatory Reporting or equivalent functions

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required

Strong regulatory & financial reporting knowledge prevalent in banking/financial institutions

Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS including recent pronouncements

Master's degree in accounting or finance

Experience working with large, multi-national corporations with numerous and varying reporting requirements;

One (1) or more years of relevant experience;

Experience working with credit agreements;

Working knowledge of IFRS and U.S. GAAP;

Solid analytical abilities combined with being highly detail oriented;

Strong communication skills (oral and written);

Advanced experience and knowledge of SAP and BI is desirable, including SAP Consolidation;

Professional Accounting Designation (CA, CPA, CMA, CGA) (5+ years’ experience is preferred)

Previous experience in the Oil & Gas Industry is preferred;

Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently when necessary, with flexibility to adhere to deadlines;

Strong attention to detail and interpersonal skills;

Experience working with large datasets and Excel Functions (VLOOKUPs, MATCH, SUMIF, etc.)

Provide monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

Offer involvement in various department-wide initiatives

IFRS accounting experience considered an asset

Providing strategic and expert technical advice on environmental issues, including groundwater assessments, contaminated site management, risk assessment, and remediation options.

Mandatory minimum of 5 years of direct experience in environmental risk assessment within the oil and gas industry.

Subsoil Salinity Tool (SST) certification is necessary.
